Individual and Group Options

I create customized programs to improve your grammar, writing, and vocabulary skills.

Small Groups—Grammar Brush-Up and Vocabulary Improvement

I offer a substantially lower rate per person for small groups of two. If you have fellow students, peers, friends, or siblings at a similar level who are also interested in improving their grammar or vocabulary, you can form your own small group.

Please contact me to schedule tutoring or with questions.

Time frame

What is the time frame for tutoring?

Programs for grammar and vocabulary are 6 to 8 hours in length, usually over 3-4 weeks. Weekly sessions are 2 hours long, but other session-lengths and time frames can be arranged. For maximum benefit, do at least 6 hours of outside work, including applying your new knowledge to your reading, writing, and speaking.

Other Programs

I also offer programs on standardized test prep (SAT, ACT, and others), speed reading, and study and note-taking skills, some of which can be combined with grammar, writing, and/or vocabulary.

I generally work with writing clients on an ongoing, as-needed basis, for major projects including:

  • Assistance with proof-reading, revising, and editing
  • Help with organizing papers and reports, developing your point-of-view and thesis, and supporting it with relevant evidence

"I'm a middle-aged adult (working on my first novel) and I noticed that my punctuation could really use some work. Norman found me some useful resources and helped me understand more of the rules of grammar and punctuation. It was a great experience working with him."
